Bishop Joseph D. Henderson, Sr.

 Bishop Joseph D. Henderson, Sr.is a Servant Leader with a passion for God and compassion for people.  He serves as the Senior Pastor of Kingdom Family Worship Center located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  A man of destiny and vision he was called into the ministry at the age of fourteen.

He is a native of Richmond, Virginia.  He was educated in Richmond Public Schools and furthered his studies at Virginia Union University and the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College.  He brings a lifetime of experience to the table and has served in virtually every area of ministry development. He has spent his life building relationships between people of different denominational, racial & economic backgrounds.

Bishop Henderson is highly regarded for his vision and knowledge in leadership. He is known as a pioneering leader, a family man, a caring and loving pastor.

He is also the Visionary and Executive Director of the Bragg Hill Family Life Center which was established in 1997 and addresses the needs of the community at large. Under his leadership this non-profit agency serves as a model for many other agencies. His creative program designs and skillful use of resources has yielded tremendous success. As a result of his efforts he serves as a Faith-based Initiatives Strategist for NPO’s, Ministries, Corporations and Government Agencies.  He has spent over 30 years of his life dealing with issues involving the family, especially youth development. He is a highly respected teacher and preacher.

He has served and continues to serve as a Board Member to many Faith and Community Organizations.  Such as the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, the Tower of Deliverance Ministries, Inc., and Moss Free Clinic to name a few. He has also received Appointments and Commissions to; VA Faith and Community Advisory Council, Fredericksburg City Planning Commission, VA Governor’s Advisory Board for Volunteerism and Community Service and the VA Family and Fatherhood Consortium Steering Committee.

 Some of his Honors and Awards include: Commendation for Outstanding Leadership and Community Service, State of VA, Community Service Award, Shiloh Community Service Corporation, Positive Image Award for Outstanding Community Service, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award, and FBI Directors Community Leadership Award.

 He has a heart for serving people and is an anointed man of God. His desire for ministry is one of excellence, diversity, integrity and relevance. He is well respected and known for preaching and teaching messages that change mindsets and encourages hearts.  He remains a faithful and dedicated student of the word of God and is a “Gifted Teacher and Preacher”

Celebrating over thirty years of marriage with Dr. Doris Henderson they have four children, Danielle, Ashley, Joseph, Jr., and Benjamin and one grandson; David.

Bishop Henderson continues to be a leading voice of innovation and inspiration in his pursuit of Kingdom Order and Excellence as a keynote speaker, conference host, workshop presenter, ministry coach and spiritual leader.
